Online Quran classes for adults: 1:1 live, around your schedule
You have decided to start, or to start again. What you need now is a class that survives your calendar and a teacher who meets you at your actual level, with no fuss about how long it took you to get here. Our online Quran classes for adults are 1:1 and live, 30 minutes each, booked around your working day, and part of all online Quran classes at Taqwa Foundation, trusted by 5,500+ students since 2009. Most students who complete both trial classes choose to stay.

Quran classes built for adult life
Every class is 30 minutes, one teacher and one student, live. That is short enough to hold a place in a working week and long enough to make real progress. Students take them early in the morning before work, on a lunch break, in the evening after the house goes quiet, or weekend-only. You choose 2, 3 or 5 classes a week, whatever your calendar can honestly keep.
Booking captures your timezone and preferred time, a staff member calls to confirm the details, and you get reminders the day before and the hour before each class. When life changes, your timing changes with it: you can readjust your schedule anytime, as often as you need, with a message rather than a negotiation.
We run classes 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so whatever hour actually works for you is an hour we can teach in.
Your teacher sends regular progress updates, so you see the months adding up in letters joined, surahs read and rules mastered, rather than wondering whether it is working. Most adults settle into 2 or 3 classes a week and treat it like any other standing appointment: small, fixed, and surprisingly hard to give up once it starts paying off.

Where you'll start, whatever your level
Adults start at one of three points, and all three are normal here.
Starting from zero
The alphabet, then the Noorani Qaida, then reading, exactly the pathway on our Quran for beginners page.
Returning after years away
You read once, life got busy, and now the letters feel distant. Rusty reading rebuilds to fluency through steady revision, usually faster than students expect.
Reading fine already and wanting the rules
The tajweed course or deeper study.
A placement assessment inside your 2 free trial classes finds your level, so no one is ever placed too low or pushed too fast. Our students include all three kinds of adult learner, and your teacher will tell you plainly after the trial where you stand and what the first months look like.
How long it takes depends heavily on what you already have. Someone who read as a child and let it lapse moves quickly; someone starting at the alphabet takes longer. Your teacher assesses you in the first class and gives you a realistic estimate for you, rather than an average for somebody else.
For reverts and new Muslims
If you came to Islam as an adult, you can start here with zero assumptions made about what you know. Your teacher explains everything from the alphabet upward, at your pace, in a private 1:1 class where no question is too basic and no one is watching.
Many reverts are learning to recite for salah for the first time, so short surahs come early in the pathway: you begin using what you learn within weeks, not years. Many also tell us the privacy of 1:1 is what finally made starting feel possible.

For seniors and advanced students
If you read well and want more, classes stretch to match: sessions of up to 2 hours for senior and high-level study, structured revision of what you already hold, tajweed refinement, and the Quranic Arabic course for those who want to understand the text itself rather than only recite it. Longer sessions are available at every level, and standard pricing applies at every age: there is no separate senior rate.
Some advanced students also go on to memorize with our Hifz / Quran Memorization Program, paced for adults with revision built in from the start.
Sisters learning with female teachers
Adult women can choose to study with one of our qualified female Quran teachers, at the same times and the same prices.
Near me is everywhere
Searching for Quran classes for adults near you? Online 1:1 means the teacher comes to your timezone and your kitchen table, whether you are in Houston, a small town, or anywhere between. We are adding city pages across the US over time, but you never have to wait for one to start.
I'm a revert and put this off for almost 2 years because I was embarrassed. My teacher never made it weird. We started from the alphabet and 8 months later I can read short surahs on my own. Slowly but I can.
Been taking tajweed correction classes for about a year. I thought I could read Quran fine until my teacher showed me how many rules I was getting wrong. Humbling but worth it. He corrects mistakes I didn't even know I was making.
What it costs
Adult classes start at $55/month for 2 classes a week, rising to $85/month for 5. Other weekly schedules sit between the two. Households learning together pay less: 2 students get 25% off the total, 3 or more get 50% off. There is no contract, and you can cancel anytime.
| Weekly rhythm | Per month | Suits |
|---|---|---|
| 2 classes per week | $55 | Fits around work, and enough to keep steady progress. |
| 5 classes per week | $85 | The fastest pace, for a focused season of learning. |
Taqwa Foundation is a US-registered business, and you pay through local payments in the US, Canada, New Zealand or Australia. You will have met the teacher, heard your assessment, and agreed your schedule in the free trial classes before you spend anything.
Sponsor a student
Some families cannot afford classes. If you would like to cover a child's monthly fee, in whole or in part, mention it on your welcome call and we will match your sponsorship with a student who needs it.
Frequently asked questions
Can adults learn the Quran, or is it too late?
Adults of every age learn here. Adult beginners are a large, ordinary part of our student body, and many students start (or restart) in their 40s, 50s and beyond.
I'm a complete beginner. Where do I start?
At the alphabet, with the Noorani Qaida, then reading, then tajweed if you want it. Your free trial classes include a placement assessment, so you start at exactly your level.
How do classes fit around a full-time job?
Classes are 30 minutes and bookable early morning, lunch, evening, or weekend-only, across US timezones. If your work pattern shifts, you can readjust your schedule anytime.
Can I choose a female teacher?
Yes. Sisters can study with one of our qualified female Quran teachers, at the same times and prices.
What happens in the free trial classes?
Two full 1:1 classes, free and with no obligation. You meet the teacher, they assess your level, and you agree a schedule that fits your week before you pay anything.
