Refunds and cancellation
How money works here, in plain terms. If anything below is unclear, ask us before you pay rather than after.
Have a lawyer read this before launch
The positions below are Taqwa Foundation’s own and they are deliberately generous, so most consumer law will be satisfied comfortably. Even so, cancellation and refund rights in the UK, EU, Canada, Australia and New Zealand differ by country and override whatever a policy says.
A qualified adviser should confirm the wording before launch.
The short version
-
The trial is free
Your first two classes cost nothing and we take no payment details for them.
-
No contract, no minimum term
You can stop at any time.
-
What happens to a paid month
If you stop partway through a month you have paid for, we refund you. We will ask what went wrong, because we would rather learn from it, but the refund does not depend on your answer.
Trial classes
The two trial classes are free. Nothing is charged, no payment details are taken, and there is nothing to refund.
Cancelling your classes
You can cancel at any time. Tell your teacher, message the office, or call us on +1 (888) 258-8858. Any of those is enough, and you never have to explain yourself to more than one person.
There is no notice period and no cancellation window to catch. If you are leaving, you are not charged for the month you are leaving in.
Refunds
A month paid but not yet started is refunded in full. A month partly used is refunded too, even well into it. Classes paid for but never taken are refunded. Refunds go back the way the payment came in.
Where consumer law gives you more. If you live in the UK, EU, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, you may have cancellation and refund rights beyond what is written here. Those rights apply regardless of this policy, and we will honour them.
Classes we cancel
If we cancel a class, we offer you a reschedule at a time that works for you.
If we cannot supply a teacher for an extended period, we tell you, and we offer a substitute teacher so your student does not lose momentum. Most families work with the substitute and return to their own teacher when they are back, and some choose to stay with the substitute. If neither suits you, we refund the month.
Missed classes
If a class is missed, we get in touch and ask what happened, then offer to reschedule it. There is no minimum notice period and no penalty for short notice. Some families reschedule, some prefer to pick up at the next class, and either is fine.
Life happens, and our scheduling is deliberately flexible. Tell us in advance whenever you can and we will move the class rather than lose it.
Household discounts
Discounts apply to the household total: 25% off for two students, 50% off for three or more. If one student stops, the discount recalculates from the following month based on how many students from that household are still studying.
Sponsored students
Where a student’s fee is covered by a sponsor, the sponsor may stop at any time. we look for another sponsor first. If we cannot find one, we talk to you about what is possible rather than simply stopping the classes.
Taqwa Foundation is not a registered charity and does not present itself as one, so a sponsorship is one family helping another rather than a charitable donation.
Payment problems
Classes do not stop. We contact you and work it out. Nobody’s child loses their teacher over a card that expired.
Disputes
If you think you have been charged incorrectly, tell us and we will look at it. Email or call +1 (888) 258-8858, and we will come back to you within 48 hours.
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. Almost everything is faster to fix directly.
