Meet our online Quran teachers: qualified, vetted, and matched to your child

Choosing an online Quran teacher is really choosing who your child spends half an hour with, several times a week. This page shows you exactly who teaches at Taqwa Foundation: how each Quran tutor is chosen, what they teach, and how you meet yours free before paying anything.

Every teacher here teaches live, one-to-one, and every family may sit in on any class.

How we choose our teachers

Taqwa Foundation’s Quran teachers are vetted before they teach a single student, and the first gate is the hardest: nobody is considered without a personal reference from someone we already trust. After that comes a background check, then testing, then a probation period taught under supervision. A teacher joins the permanent team after roughly four to six months.

Beyond qualifications, we look for what parents actually ask about: patience with children, experience teaching non-native speakers, and clear spoken English. Our teachers include huffaz (those who have memorized the entire Quran) and teachers who hold ijazah, a certified chain of recitation running back to the Prophet ﰺ. Only verified credentials appear on a teacher’s card. Teacher information on this page is verified by Hassan, our head of teachers.

This is how about Taqwa Foundation has worked since 2009, and it is why parents stay.

And more besides, teaching kids, adults, and sisters across every course we teach.

Good experience overall. Classes start on time, they send me updates after every month on where he is in the Qaida, and rescheduling is easy when we travel. Wish I had signed him up earlier instead of waiting.
Brother Nadeem, USA
As a single working mom the evening timings saved us. Her teacher is wonderful, very soft spoken but firm when she needs to be. My daughter's tajweed has improved so much that her weekend school teacher asked me where she studies.
Sister Amber, USA
I sit nearby during classes and I like what I hear. The teacher corrects her makhraj properly but in a kind way, she never makes her feel bad for mistakes. For my daughter a female teacher was a must and Alhamdulillah we found a good one.
Umm Layla, USA
Been taking tajweed correction classes for about a year. I thought I could read Quran fine until my teacher showed me how many rules I was getting wrong. Humbling but worth it. He corrects mistakes I didn't even know I was making.
Brother Tariq, USA
I'm a revert and put this off for almost 2 years because I was embarrassed. My teacher never made it weird. We started from the alphabet and 8 months later I can read short surahs on my own. Slowly but I can.
Sister Jennifer, USA
The teacher is very patient with my son who is not an easy kid to keep seated lol. She repeats the same thing 10 times without getting annoyed. That is not something I can do myself so Alhamdulillah for her.
Sister Hira, USA
My daughter is 6 and very shy with new people. First two classes she barely said a word. Her ustadha was so gentle with her, by the third class she was reading out loud.
Umm Zahra, USA
We have been with Taqwa Foundation for almost 2 years now. The consistency is what I appreciate most. Same teacher, same time every week, no drama. My older one just finished Juz Amma.

Female Quran teachers for sisters and girls

Many families specifically ask for a female teacher, for a daughter or for themselves. Female teachers are part of the team, and sister-to-sister classes are a normal, everyday part of how we teach. Ask and you get one.

Privacy is respected throughout: one-to-one classes, your choice of medium, and a teacher who understands the comfort a female teacher brings. See our classes with female teachers.

How your child is matched with a teacher

You do not pick a name from a list, and you do not have to guess. After you book the free trial, our team matches a teacher to the student: age, level, course, language, and your schedule. The two free trial classes are where you meet them, watch them teach, and see your child respond.

If the fit is not right, tell us. You can ask for a different teacher at any time, for any reason or none at all, and it costs nothing. And you may sit in on any class, anytime, for as long as you like. This is the same matching we use for our youngest students in Quran classes for kids.

FAQs

Are your Quran teachers certified?

Our team includes huffaz and ijazah-holding teachers. A teacher’s card only lists credentials we have verified, and nothing more.

Can I choose a female teacher for my daughter or myself?

Yes. Mention it when booking or on the welcome call and we will match you with one of our female teachers. See Quran classes for ladies.

Can I meet the teacher before paying?

Yes. That is exactly what the 2 free trial classes are: real classes with your matched teacher, with no payment details taken.

Can parents sit in on classes?

Yes, anytime. Sit beside your child for the first class or every class. Teachers expect it and welcome it.

What if the teacher is not the right fit?

Tell us and we will rematch you, at any time and at no charge. You do not owe us a reason. It is a normal request, and teachers take no offense.

Do your teachers speak English?

Yes. Our teachers teach in English, and many also speak Arabic and Urdu. Each teacher’s card lists their languages.

Are you hiring Quran teachers?

We welcome applications from qualified teachers. See teach with us for current openings.
